The behaviour of the fluorescent probe 9,10-diphenylanthracene (DPA) dissolved in the nematic phase of the cyanocyclohexyl mesophase mixture ZLI-1167 has been investigated using fluorescence depolarization on the nanosecond scale. The orientational order parameter and the rotational diffusion coefficient of the fluorescent probe molecule have been determined as a function of temperatures together with its fluorescence lifetimes. The ordering results are in good agreement with those obtained using C¹³ in Tarroni and Zannoni, J.Phys.Chem. 100, 17157 (1996)
